Free Software – Ultimate Comment Scraper

Gotta Love Free Software!

Are you looking for an easy way to scrape thousands of relevant comments directly related to your niche? Well, today is your lucky day! As a celebration for my new blog I”ve decided to make one of my most popular tools a freebie for all my blog readers.

There is no catch, no opt-in, nothing to sign up for – the tool is 100% free. Not only that, but you”re welcome to give it away to your own blog readers, share it on forums or give it away as a freebie for your own products.

What is Ultimate Comment Scraper?

Ultimate Comment Scraper is a tool designed to make creating niche related comments a lot less time consuming. It does this by using Yahoo Answers, Twitter and Youtube API”s to scrape questions, comments and tweets related to your keywords.

Anyone who does blog commenting knows how tedious and time consuming it can be to write out blog comments for each of your niches. This is the reason why Ultimate Comment Scraper was created.

Here”s a quick breakdown:

If my blog was about weight loss, I would try to leave comments on other blogs related to my niche. (weight loss, fitness, nutrition, diet, etc.) The best way to leave a comment that will actually stick is to leave one related to the blog you”re commenting on, and in the form of a question. By leaving a comment in the form of a question, you”re asking the admin and other blog readers to engage in conversation. A good blog owner doesn”t like to leave unanswered questions hanging around the blog for too long.

Scraping Niche Related Comments

For this example we”re going to go with the “weight loss/fitness” niche. I”m going to scrape questions from Yahoo Questions based on these niche related keywords “lose weight” and “gain muscle”.

Time to start scraping …

We ended up with 144 niche related questions that can now be used for blog commenting.

Here are some example comments:

  1. What”s a quick and easy way to lose weight for a nursing mom?
  2. How can I lose weight in my thighs and legs?
  3. What should I eat to lose weight or to stay slim? Other than slimming products,is there anything else to help you lose weight? Like what type of vegetables, fruits,or meat that decreases our body fat percentage?

Each comment above is asking the blog owner a question related to the niche. Even if the question isn”t 100% related to their particular blog post, there is still a better chance of it appearing more natural then if you were to just write a generic comment like, “Hey! Great blog post!”. As long as the comment is related to the overall theme of the blog, you have a great chance of passing moderation.

What else can Ultimate Comment Scraper be used for?

The cool thing is these questions are being scraped directly from Yahoo Answers which means every one of these questions has been asked by a real person. This can help you gain insight into your niche by knowing what people are asking and needing help with within your niche. Need to write an ebook for your blog readers? Take some of the best questions you get from the software, do a little research and find the answers to the questions. Throw this in an ebook and now you have a simple ebook based around your niche you can give away for free in exchange for an opt-in, as a product bonus, etc.

Ultimate Comment Scraper can be used for:

  • Creating social bookmark titles/descriptions
  • Creating niche related comments
  • Doing niche research
  • Compiling information for ebooks
  • Discovering more niche related keywords

The sky”s the limit!

It wasn”t long ago I was selling this software for $27. Now you can have it 100% free with give-away rights simply by sharing this post.

Sorry everyone who didn’t have the download link work. I guess the plugin doesn’t work for some folks. I changed it for now. Everyone should be able to grab it.

    Hi Devin.

Iv been using the tool for a while, but today, its refusing to scrape anything. No errors or anything, it just doesn’t give any results. Perhaps yahoo closed the gap?

Sorry. I didn’t see a comment here. Would you happen to be using proxies? If so, disable them. I would uncheck the blacklist and proxies if you have those options checked. I just tested the software and its scraping fine from Yahoo on my end.

    • Greg Meyer

      Thanks Devin.

We’re not using any proxies. I also tested on another PC and its doing the same. Twitter is the only platform we can scrape. No Yahoo (answers or questions) or YouTube. It just hangs on scraping and doesn’t return any results.

That’s odd. Do you have .net framework installed? I’ve just tested from my home PC (windows 7) and my VPS (windows 2008) and Yahoo & Youtube are working great. It seems to be working fine for other users as well. I’m not sure if something like antivirus or firewall might be blocking the Youtube and Yahoo API’s? Very strange.

Seems that I can’t update the software?
Error message: “Error while looking for the newest version”.
I’ve been struggling to find YouTube API, can you point me where to get it?
    Thank you.

Hey – Yes that error will come up but there is no update available so just click it off for now until I get a new version out. The software should function as normal. An API isn’t required, the software has them built in.

Just so you know. You don’t actually have to enter your own API. The software has built in API’s that it rotates through. If for some reason it isn’t pulling results, you might need to enter your own API, but usually that doesn’t happen.

plugin still not work. The error is this : one or more affected files have operations pending. You must restart your application to complete this process.Tried to restart , nothing changes.. the same problem ;(.Runned as administrator , the problem still persist :( This error come when I launch the application after the program is performing life check or smth like this :(

  5. Olaf Shiel

Hi, great looking tool, but it also wont start for me. Getting a warning, “One or more affected files have operations pending. You should restart your application..”
It did open and run before after this warning but now it wont start.

Dainell Wood – Twitter doesn’t work on this free version anymore since its API has changed and I decided against updating this version since I have a new one being created that should be much better. :)

Really nice software, but one suggestion! ,after extracting all, when saving in txt ,can some space to be added between them? in between the lines ,so it easy to know this is one paragraph, and the next and next ,now are all next to each other and is hard to figure out witch is witch. Thanks.

Hello. thank you devin for programs. but i ask you if you have the program “Ultimate Comment Scraper” or this “”because I am in dire need of these programs.
    thank you very much

    • Devin

Yes that was the same comment scraper from the old website. Unfortunately, the old version is no longer working. We have been in development for a few months on the new version which will be much better so when that is released I will be announcing it here on my blog.

  8. Fizzy Energy

Do you have any idea when this software will be ready again? I kind of can’t live without it! :)

The last version no longer works It freezes on the “checking internet connection” dialog box.

    • Devin

Sorry, hopefully within the next few months. I didn’t realize how many people still used the old version, but the new version will be much much better. :)

    • Devin

It’s currently not working because we have started development on version 2 and this version is outdated and not worth it to put money in to fix it.
