What is GSA Platform Identifier (GSA PI)?

GSA PI is a software designed to help identify and sort your scraped list of URLS by platform (CMS), PA/DA, OBL & more. The tool was designed for SEO’s who scrape their own lists and need something a bit more “robust” then the identify and sort in feature built into SER.

What does that mean exactly?

It means, that if you’re scraping with Scrapebox and the output is being written to a specific folder E.G. c:/scrapebox output – GSA Pi, can monitor this folder, extract the scraped URLS, and sort them in real time. This means you don’t have to sit around and babysit your scraper, let Pi monitor the output folder and take care of the sorting on auto-pilot. Not only will the sorting be handled automatically, but there are different sorting criteria you can set to help filter out the links you don’t want. (works with free Moz API)

Current Sorting Features:

Sorting by Moz PA/DA  – Page Authority and Domain Authority are metrics used by SEOmoz to gauge how a certain domain/page will perform in the search engines. Although PA/DA can be artificially manipulated, using this filter adds another “layer” of metrics to help bring in higher quality links. You can use a free SEOmoz account to get started.

Keyword filter – The keyword filters allows you to help filter out non-relevant URLS, by keeping only the URLS that feature your specific keywords in the title, URL, meta description, meta keywords or page title.

Outbound Links – Filter out URL’s that have too many outbound links on the page. When a page/domain has too many outbound links, it can be seen as “spammy” and less link juice is passed to your link, this filter helps to filter out those heavily spammed pages/domains.

Filter by Platform – The platform filter will allow you to save only a specific type of platform/CMS E.G. WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc. – This is useful if you’re trying to only build backlinks to a specific type of platform and need to filter out everything else.

Other Cool Features:

Duplicate Remove – Automatic duplicate monitoring will allow the software to monitor specific folders that you want to be automatically dedup’d. Simply set a folder, choose a countdown interval (E.G. 15 minutes) and every x amount of time, the software will check and remove duplicates from the .txt files in that folder.

Stats and Charts –  Stats and graphs give a  breakdown of all sorted platforms and the number of each found. Numbers and chart will change in real time as new URLS are processed:

Tools – Pi features a few extra built in tools to help with filtering your list. Some features include, trim to root, remove dup domains, dup URL’s, remove by mask, combine files, and split files.

Custom Engines – Easily create your own custom engines that can be used to detect platforms that aren’t included.

Proxy Support – While proxies aren’t required to run Pi, but for those of you who prefer to stay anonymous, proxy support is there for you.

Drag and Drop Import – Importing files and folders is as easy as selecting and dragging them into the window.

Multi-threaded – GSA Pi features adjustable multi-threading so you can adjust the speed and amount of resources Pi uses while running on your machines. Increasing thread count can make Pi work faster, but will also increase CPU usage. Adjust thread count accordingly.

Multi-project – Multi-project allows you to run as many projects as you want simultaneously. Not only that, but you can also have multiple projects saving links to the same destination folder without any conflicts. No URL’s will ever be overwritten, but simply appended to the URL’s that are already present in the .txt files.

Learning To Use GSA Search Engine Ranker:

GSA Forum – The GSA forum is the best place to go if you’re just getting started with Search Engine Ranker and has numerous threads covering a wide range of topics. The GSA forum also has some of the most knowledgeable SEO and SER users around. Some great threads to checkout when first getting started are here and here.

Youtube Channel – Some of these videos are a bit outdated but still give a good grasp on a lot of the basics. Be sure to search for other SER videos in Youtube made by other users.

GSA Online Wiki – The wiki covers some of the basics, but also features the MACRO guide – macros can be used in almost all fields and can save a lot of time with your campaigns.

NOTE: A lot of people can’t afford some of the extra bells and whistles listed below and that’s perfectly fine, but the most important things you should focus on to keep SER running efficiently would be proxies, emails and captchas. (also having a decent VPS doesn’t hurt)

 List building tools: 

GSA Platform Identifier – GSA PI is a tool to help identify and sort links. After I scrape a large list of URLS with Gscraper/Scrapebox, I run them through this software to see which links are postable before importing into link building tools. Instead of importing a raw list, sorting it first makes Search Engine Ranker run more efficient.

VPS Providers:

SolidSEOVPS – This is the VPS/Dedicated provider I’m currently using with great results. I’d recommend going with at least the “Geek” package which is 2GB of ram and should be good if you’re running Captcha Breaker and Search Engine Ranker. I went with the SSD300 package (dedicated server) because I run a lot of tools at the same time and wanted to have more than enough system resources to minimize slow downs. The SSD300 package is overkill for most people and definitely not required – that is just what I’m using. Pretty much any package there should run SER/CB without any issues.

Poweruphosting – Another great VPS/Dedicated server provider I have used in the past with good results and fair pricing.

Proxy Providers:

ProxyBandit – The new kid on the block! Proxy Bandit is a new service that uses a MASSIVE database of 5,000,000 I.P.s that automatically rotate every 10 minutes so you’re constantly getting fresh I.P.s – I will say these are hands down the best bang for buck proxies you can get when it comes to scraping. Even with the smallest 5 port plan ($6.95/month) you’re able to scrape at 50 threads. I’m currently using the 50 port plan because I do a lot of heavy scraping, but for most people a nice 5-10 port plan will get the job done just fine. Highly recommended!

Proxy-N-VPN (use coupon “SpecialDiscount” for 15% off recurring)– I still have a subscription for 50 shared proxies from this service and still use them with various software for great results.

Buyproxies.org – This proxy provider has a pretty big following and some customers highly recommend them. It seems reviews for them are mixed, but they might be a proxy provider worth checking out.

Proxyhub (use coupon “GSAOFF” for 10% off recurring) – Proxyhub use to be the recommended proxy provider for SER users, but unfortunately many users have reported the proxies aren’t as good as they once were. Try them at your own risk.

Captcha Solver/Services: 

GSA Captcha Breaker – GSA CB is a stand alone captcha solving software that can save you hundreds or thousands of dollars on captcha solving cost by solving them internally using OCR (optical character recognition). This tool is pretty much a “must have” if you’re trying to save on captcha cost.

ExpertDecoders/Humancoder – An affordable captcha solving service that seems to do a pretty good job. I use this as a fall back service if GSA Captcha Breaker can’t solve the captcha, it gets passed to Expert Decoders. Current price is around $1.38 per 1,000 captcha solves.

DeathbyCaptcha – Another affordable and commonly used captcha solving service. Price is $1.39 per 1,000 captcha solves.

Email Accounts:

BuyBulkaccounts (Yahoo accounts) – I often switch between this service and BanditIM. Both providers work great and have been equally effective in my campaigns.

BanditIM (MailRU) – These accounts have also been working great for me lately and are also a very affordable alternative to Yahoo accounts.

Catchall Emails – If you would like to use a catchall email, but would rather not go through the hassle of setting one up, this service is for you.

SER list providers:

1LinkList – One of the best link providers around. 1linklist uses many high end servers to scrape massive amounts of URLS that are automatically synced to your GSA Search Engine Ranker global site list so you always have fresh links every single day. Lists are prefiltered and verified to work with SER so success rate is high.

SERlists.com – These guys are some of the most knowledgeable SER users around. They create quality guides to help their customers get the most out of their link lists and also limit the amount of lists that are sold. (very important)

LoopLines Auto Approve Marketplace – This is a new service made by one of the most knowledgeable list scrapers around, Matt aka Loopline. One of the unique features about his service is you never have to download his lists if you don’t want to. Matt offers the option of using blue box real time sync that will automatically sync his freshly scraped list to your copy of SER so you’re always getting the latest lists without having to lift a finger. Check out his website to see everything he has to offer.

Roys SER URL lists – Roy provides non verified GSA SER lists. Basically, these lists are scraped using footprints found in SER and each customer receives a unique list. The success rate won’t be as high as a verified list, but should still yield decent results. Prices are also pretty affordable. This is a great service if you prefer not to use scraping tools, but rather let someone else do it for you.

Other Sellers – This is the Buy/Sell/Trade section of the GSA forum. There are many different users selling link lists, but make sure to check the feedback in the threads to make sure the list is good quality before buying.

External Scraping:

Gscraper – I still use Gscraper + Gscraper proxy service as my primary external scraper. Unfortunately, the Gscraper proxy service is quite expensive, but allows me to scrape endlessly without worrying about burning out my own proxies. Unfortunately, due to the tool being made in China, the support isn’t the greatest due to language barrier. Even with that said, I leave this tool scraping on my dedicated server almost 24/7 without any issues.

Scrapebox – Deemed the swiss army knife of SEO tools. Scrapebox is probably one of the most popular SEO tools on the market and features an insane amount of free add-ons that are worth 10x’s the $57 price this tool goes for. I don’t use SB as much for scraping anymore, but I make use of the add-ons and other features on a regular basis.

Content Generator:

Kontent Machine – This is my go-to tool for content generation and lower tier campaigns. With a few clicks you can produce a campaign that can be imported into Search Engine Ranker that auto populates almost all fields. This reduces the time it takes to setup a campaign by a significant amount!

SEO Content Machine – If you’re in the market for a content generator, this is another software to check out. SEO Content Machine has been highly recommended by many SER users and some say its better than Kontent Machine. I haven’t tried it myself because I have a lifetime license to Kontent Machine and KM does everything I need, but if you haven’t purchased a content generator yet, consider checking out this tool before making your final decision.

Content Spinners:

Spinrewriter – Spinrewriter is currently the spinner I’m using alongside SER and KM and seems to do a great job at automatically spinning all my content.

WordAI – WordAI Turing package is said to be the best automated spinner on the market that produces the most readable content. WordAI also integrates with SER and KM, but is a bit more pricey than Spinrewriter.

Keyword List:

Furykyles Premium Keyword List:  This is a massive keyword list that I use in conjunction with Gscraper or Scrapebox to scrape my link lists. The keyword list comes in different formats and many different languages.

Indexing Services:

Mind Mapping has been around for longer than you think but the term was only coined more recently which was when its popularity exploded. With the rise in awareness of Mind Maps came the realization that they could be applied to different areas such as learning, planning, visualization and productivity.

A stat has been floating around for some time that you can accomplish 20 hours of work in just 6 hours simply by using Mind Maps to organize your thoughts. Although it truly is an impressive concept, let’s be honest; humans are individuals. You can definitely be more productive at work and in life using Mind Maps but the exact amount of time you can save cannot be quantified.

There are lots of ways Mind Mapping can be used to boost your productivity. Below are the top 5 techniques that have worked best for me:

1. Task Management

Mind Maps can easily help you to plan and organize your time better. In one diagram you can show tasks you need to complete and their priority plus the time you have to dedicate to each area. See below an example of how I used an ExamTime Mind Map to organize my upcoming holiday to Italy:

 
2. Easy Visualization

Traditional note-taking requires linear thinking and processing which doesn’t support your ability to link ideas and make associations. Mind Maps are key to ensuring you use your precious time more effectively as you can absorb the information in the diagram almost at a glance. Whether you’re relaying information to your boss, memorizing notes before an important meeting or giving a presentation, this method can be key to your success.

3. Embrace Creativity

Mind Maps are well-known as a tool which enhance brainstorming as they provide a blank canvas and the freedom you need to generate ideas. Online Mind Maps in particular are a great instrument to have in your toolkit if your aim is to unlock your creative side as you can easily move nodes, add images and use different shapes, sizes and colors. You don’t need to be an artist but it will save you time by allowing you to express your ideas quickly and intuitively.

4.  Radiant Thinking

This is a mental process which everyone can relate to. Have you ever heard a song, smelled a scent or even tasted something that reminds you of a memory or thought? The jolt you get when your brain reacts this way is known as “Radiant Thinking”. You brain is a giant machine of associations which makes this happen. Using a Mind Map to represent this information can help you understand your thoughts and sift through your jumbled ideas more clearly.

5. Left and Right Brain Working Together

Tying in the two previous points and understanding how the hemispheres of the brain work, it’s easy to see how Mind Maps can fit into this space. As you can see in the image below, the right side of your brain is the creative, idea-generating, buzz-filled part of your mind while the left side thinks logically, analytically and with reasoning. People generally tend to use one side more than the other but you can integrate these cortical skills to improve your brain capacity and ability to memorize information. The best way to improve your productivity is often the hardest – thinking quicker and on your feet!

Two heads are better than one! Mind Mapping is a clever way to collaborate with your team members on projects at different stages from idea generation to planning and workflow management.

Before I go into why SER is so effective, here’s a few screenshots from some of my campaigns to show that SER can indeed bring results:

From the images above you can see that not only am I getting rankings from Google, but have a few first page rankings from Yahoo and Bing as well. Also, take note that the PR (Page Rank) of all the domains is a minimum of PR1. This is due to SER having the ability to automatically seek out high PR dofollow links.

That PR9 you see is actually a Youtube video so don’t get too excited .. you won’t be achieving PR9 with any link building software. Sorry!

Keep in mind Page Rank seems to be a metric that Google is slowly doing away with so I wouldn’t put too much focus on that, first page rankings is what really matters.

Why is GSA Search Engine Ranker the best automated link building tool on the market today?

First off, GSA SER has the unique ability to post to hundreds if not thousands of different platforms. A few platform examples would be WordPress blogs, Drupal, Vbulletin forums, the list goes on and on.

By having this ability, SER is able to produce a very diverse backlink profile.

You can see from the image that there are many different categories and within each category there are many different platforms. This opens up millions upon millions of websites for potential backlinking opportunities.

If you only want backlinks with a max 50 outbound links on that page, you can do that. If you only want to build backlinks from .edu, .gov sites, you can do that.

There are a ton of filters that can be used to bring in the highest quality backlinks possible. Backlink diversity + control over links (filters) is what makes SER so effective in ranking sites.

What are footprints?

Footprints are also known as Google Search Operators. Read more about them here: http://www.googleguide.com/advanced_operators_reference.html

GSA Search Engine Ranker uses these “footprints” to query Google which lets Google know we’re looking for a specific type of website/platform. (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc)

For example, if you were to select the Article Beach platform in SER, (Search engine Ranker) inside this platform you will find various footprints such as “Website Design and Developed by ArticleBeach” or “upload your articles and keep updated about new articles”.

By using SER Footprint Editor, you’re able to easily add your own custom footprints to these platforms which gives SER the ability to scrape more potential places to leave your backlinks.

Today, I wanted to write a quick post explaining how I use common outsourcing sites and Skype to build my own team of workers that I can tap into at any given time.

If you are working online, more than likely at some point in your online venture you will find yourself needing to outsource a given task. The task could be something small like writing a 400 word article to something more substantial like having your own iPhone app created.

The problem with using an outsourcing website every time you want to outsource a task is that you have to go through the hassle of creating a job, interviewing candidates, hiring workers, then paying a fee to the website when the job is completed.

By growing your own list of workers, you can bypass the expensive fee’s associated with most outsourcing sites and cut down on the time it takes to find and interview candidates.

Here’s how I do it:

When I create a job on a popular outsourcing site such as odesk.com, easyoutsource.com or freelancer.com I always interview and get the contact information (Skype) of as many qualified candidates as possible.

Here’s an example job post I might make if I were looking for expert WordPress Developers:

Shortly after posting a job you will have tons of qualified candidates waiting to be interviewed. Of course you aren’t going to be able to hire all of them, but why let that be the end of it?

Instead of hiring one candidate and ditching the other qualified candidates, I interview as many of them as I can and ask for their Skype handle so I can can easily contact them for future jobs. It’s a win-win.

How I Turn Skype into an Outsourcing Powerhouse:

First thing you want to do is create your Skype lists. Skype lists will essentially be the job categories for different workers. Its the best way I’ve found to categorize employees and keep everything organized.

Example Categories might be:

• Graphic Designers
• Programmers
• Content Writers

To create a new list in Skype, all you need to do is go to Contacts > Contact Lists > Create New List …

Now that you have your Skype lists (categories) created you can start to interview and add your candidates to the list.

After you’ve added the contact to Skype, you can simply right click on their name and go to add to list > (pick the list to add them to)

After adding workers to the contact list, I will usually right click on the contact and rename them according to their expertise. For example, if they are a software developer that specializes in C# and MYSQL, I’ll rename them according to that skill so I know who to contact when needing a job that requires that skill.

Here is an example of my Skype list for programmers:

You can see at the time this screenshot was taken I had 10 potential programmers online that were just a click away from setting up a job. As your contact list grows bigger, you will always have a candidate online waiting to be employed, no matter what time of the day it is.

Conclusion:

By building your own Skype list of workers you can:

– Save tons of time from posting jobs on various outsourcing websites

– Save large amounts of money on expensive outsourcing fees

– Build trusting relationships with your workers

– Can bounce & share potential ideas for future products

– Create lasting JV partnerships
